Script Writer (Aviation Specialist)
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Research aviation accidents using sources like NTSB/AAIB reports, cockpit transcripts, and expert analyses to develop detailed scripts.
- Write compelling narratives that build tension while educating on causes.
- Structure scripts with clear arcs: introduction, timeline recreation, analysis, and post-incident impacts (e.g., regulatory changes).
- Collaborate with the animator and editor to align scripts with visuals, providing cues for animations, voiceovers, and audio elements.
- Ensure scripts are respectful, avoiding speculation—focus on facts and lessons learned for aviation safety.
- Contribute to 6-10 scripts per month, plus updates for compilations or community posts.
Requirements
- Strong background in aviation (e.g., pilot training, engineering, or enthusiast-level knowledge) to accurately explain concepts like hypoxia, stalls, or system failures.
- Proven writing experience in scripting for video content, preferably documentaries or educational YouTube channels.
- Excellent research skills, with ability to synthesize complex reports into accessible, engaging prose.
- 2+ years in scriptwriting or journalism, with a portfolio of narrative work (aviation-related preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, adapting scripts based on feedback for production needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Aviation Studies, Creative Writing, or related field is a plus.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lahore, Pakistan, for full-time in-house work.
