Video Editor
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Edit full-length videos, integrating 3D animations, MSFS footage, voiceover recordings, and sound effects to create cohesive narratives.
- Apply editing techniques for dramatic effect, such as cross-fades during crash sequences, timeline graphics for event breakdowns, and syncopated audio for cockpit recreations.
- Collaborate with the animator and writer to ensure edits enhance scripting, maintaining a somber tone with viewer discretion warnings where needed.
- Handle post-production tasks including color grading, sound mixing, music selection (royalty-free suspense tracks), and subtitle addition for accessibility.
- Optimize videos for YouTube algorithms, including thumbnails, end screens, and SEO-friendly timestamps.
- Manage upload schedules and quality checks for 3-4 videos per month, plus occasional compilations.
Requirements
- Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve, with experience in documentary or educational content.
- Strong understanding of pacing, sound design, and visual storytelling to build suspense without sensationalism.
- Familiarity with aviation-themed content a plus, but not required—ability to learn quickly from scripts and reports.
- 2+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio showcasing long-form edits.
- Excellent organizational skills for handling multiple assets (animations, audio, graphics) in a team setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Film Editing, Media Production, or related field is a plus.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lahore, Pakistan, for full-time in-house work.
